Frequently asked questions

The questions that come up most before a project starts, on how I work, what it costs, and who this is for.

Working Together

Will I be working with you, or someone else on your team?+

You'll be working directly with me. I don't hand work off to other freelancers or subcontractors.

Why should I work with you instead of hiring a full-time employee?+

At this level of expertise, a full-time hire typically runs $180K+/year plus benefits. Many Series A–B startups don't have a workload that justifies that yet. Working together on a project or retainer basis gets you that expertise while keeping budget flexible for whatever the business needs most right now.

Who do you typically work with?+

Mostly Series A–B B2B SaaS and AI platform startups, plus some public companies. A majority of my clients are B2B SaaS and AI platform teams looking to grow smart and fast, across categories like spatial computing, developer tools, hospitality tech, HR tech, fintech, and security, the kind of categories that are genuinely useful but hard to explain in a sentence.

How We'd Work Together

How do you approach developing a strategy tailored to my business?+

I start by digging into your business, your audience, your industry, and your competitors. That research shapes a custom strategy built around your audience's actual pain points, not a generic template.

How do you determine the right keywords to target?+

A mix of keyword research, competitor analysis, and category expertise, factoring in your site's current traffic and rankings. The goal is targets with real, reachable upside, not just high-volume terms you have no shot at ranking for.

Do you offer ongoing content creation and publishing services?+

Yes. Whether you need regular blog posts, website copy, or existing content edited and refreshed, I build packages around what you actually need on a recurring basis.

Can you share examples of content and SEO strategies you've implemented for other clients?+

Yes, take a look at the portfolio for a selection of published work, and I'm happy to walk through the strategy and research behind specific pieces on a call.

Logistics and Pricing

What's the typical turnaround time for writing, editing, and strategy?+

It depends on scope, but as a rough guide: editing runs two to three days, new article writing runs two to four days, and strategy work runs one to two weeks.

Do you charge hourly, by the project, or monthly retainers?+

By the project or as a monthly retainer, depending on what's being delivered. Some engagements are better suited to a one-off rate, others to an ongoing retainer. I don't do hourly billing.

When can we start?+

Typically there's a four to five week lead time on new projects, we'll land on an exact start date during the discovery call. If you need something expedited, I can usually move you up for a rush fee.
